AEP Welcomes Tatiana Rivera To Our Team
American Emergency Preparedness are proud to announce the addition of Tatiana Rivera to our growing team of public safety professionals! Tatiana joins AEP as both a curriculum development contributor and instructor, bringing with her over a decade of front line experience and leadership in emergency communications.
Tatiana currently serves as a 911 Emergency Communications Supervisor with the Austin Police Department, where she began her career in 2014. She quickly rose through the ranks, earning certification as a Communications Training Officer (CTO) and becoming a respected leader and mentor within the agency. She is also a dedicated member of the department’s Peer Support Team, helping dispatchers navigate the emotional demands of the job while promoting mental health and resilience.
In her new role with American Emergency Preparedness, Tatiana will collaborate with curriculum development lead Erica Roberts to refresh AEP’s training slide decks and instructional materials. She will also serve as a lead instructor, beginning with live webinars and expanding into in-person instruction nationwide.
Tatiana holds a Master of Criminal Justice with a focus on Public Safety Management and Leadership and is a passionate advocate for training excellence, community education, and front line support. Originally from Bayamón, Puerto Rico and raised in Hampton, Virginia, Tatiana now calls Austin, Texas home.
Tatiana’s leadership, instructional expertise, and heart for service make her a perfect fit for our mission. Her deep understanding of the job, from both a tactical and human perspective, is exactly what our industry needs more of. We’re thrilled to have her on board!
