September 2025 Monthly Training Blast - Geo-Code Resistant Areas of Your Community

In this month’s training blast, catch a rare glimpse of AEP Director of Technology Alex Chiasson outdoors as he talks about areas of your community that may be difficult to process in your CAD system. For most, it's unlikely that the community you serve is without at least one - this could be a multi-segment "River Walk" type road, a bike path, or even a large field/event area. The troubles are two-fold: callers may have a difficult time describing their location, and you as a call-taker may have an equally tough time relaying that information to those working the radios in your center. Alex stresses the importance of keeping up on your familiarity of how these areas are presented both in the real world and in the drop-down menu in your CAD system to make these calls less stressful for you, your caller and the responding units.
